This model is a Flames of War 1/100 scale wargaming piece.

These resin and metal beauties are small and simplified, but they are attractive and go together quickly - a fun change of pace!

Thanks Ken! I so often get caught up in complex projects it's nice to actually complete something!

Hi Tim,I used to do large complex models but never managed to complete the majority of them. Now I use the KISS method of modelling, keep it simple stupid. Works much better for me.

I am amazed at how good the finished running gear looks, compared to the almost lump out of the box - how did you achieve that ? Surely not just by paint, although I'm sure that helped in the end.

And nice job getting the gun barrel straightened up.

Those little wargamer kits ain't half bad. I see them during my increasingly sparse visits to the LMSs around town and now I might just grab one next time.

Thanks for your kind comments. The running gear is pretty much as provided; I simply cleaned the mold line from the tracks with a hobby knife and sandpaper as best I could and then applied paint. More is possible I suppose, but I wanted to keep this little guy to a weekend project!

Really great work, Tim. Wargames pieces can be compromised in the detail and scale appearance departments when compared to their scale model cousins, usually for reasons of robustness for duty around the wargames table, but this is a nice looking piece and your work here has made it look the business.
