Whippet tank

Post by Spaceowl »

My first proper tank build (If this counts as a proper tank  ), the 1/72 Emhar Whippet:

I wanted to do something for the 1918 centenary, and to be honest it was never going to be an aircraft (all that rigging!) so I finally put together this old Emhar kit that had been in the box room for five years or so - I originally bought it for a wargames project that came to nothing.

A nice little build - how it measures up for accuracy I can't say, but to me that looks like a Whippet so let others count rivets. Built over one night, painted on a second, I enjoyed it immensely and may add one of the Emhar Mk.IVs at some later date.

Aircraft of VMA-542, USMC
Peru-Ecuador War 1995
THK 1939-2023
Polish Air Force 1939

Nice work, I have always liked the Wippet it looks so much more modern than the earlier tanks.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Very nice work! I have the Meng 1/35 version to tackle this year and hope it will turn out as good!
Best wishes

You hit the mark with this one. Very sweet build.

Great work, and yes it counts as a tank (I just checked with some knowledgeable trackheads I know ;-) just in case)
Been modelling for years, still learning . . . .
Model kits are meant to be assembled . . . . . . . . . . eventually.

I realise that it could qualify as an armoured tractor.

Great build, Rob and it's a proper tank alright, just as much as a Tiger or a Challenger in my book!

CCR worked a clever Devo lyrics reference into his post. I deserved it.

Very nice looking Whippet. Two nights to complete! Man, you're fast.
