Would they have used the GMC Truck in Vietnam?

Post by splash »

I’m building an early UH-34 from the 219th Helicopter Squadron, Vietnamese Air Force (VNAF) and thought an Airfix GMC truck would look good parked next to it.

Not being an AFV builder, I don’t want to look a plonker by using a truck that would have never seen service in Vietnam.

Any suggestions would be most welcome. :-D

No great knowledge but I would suggest that the M35 might be a better choice. Academy do one.

Thanks I thought that might be the case, when I picked it up in the shop I thought it was an M35, it was only when I got home and opened the box that I thought Dhoooooooooo.

Never mind it looks a nice kit, I will just build it for fun.

The GMC CCKW was used by the French when they were in IndoChina during the early 1950's.
