MMS 1/76 15cm sIG33 auf Pzkpfw Sfl 38(t) "Grille" (Cricket)

Post by ntrocket88 »

Next up, a 1/76 white metal kit from MMS. Technically a '15cm sIG 33/1 auf Sfl 38(t) Ausf K, often erroneously referred to as a 'Grille' (Cricket). This had been on my wish list for literally decades. I had planned to scratch build one and had even bought a Fujimi Pz 38(t) for the purpose, until I found this from MMS. However, this still required a fair bit of work and extra interior scratch building. I added the lower bulkhead, the shell holders, all the shells, the tilt support and crew.

Very nicely done Neil, an impressive amount of extra detail you've managed to cram in there. Your builds are now making me look at the armour models in the stash. I've been building aircraft solely for the last year or so and maybe it's time for a change or certainly to have an armour model on the go at the same time.

I am just as interested in tanks and military vehicles as I am in flying stuff and tend to build in one field or the other for a while before switching. Keeps my interest going in modelling overall. I'm starting to feel a little planed out. Time for a dig in the stash and like you say, break out the mud
