Just noticed on the Oxford Diecast website that they intend releasing a 'Davey Broon' RAF Tractor in 1/76 later on this year.
Not a model kit I know but it may be useful to some folks for dioramas and at under a fiver seems like good value. Count me in for a couple.

I couldn't find it but nearly bought a Reliant Scimatar!

No pictures yet but if it's up to their usual standards then it should be quite nice, either as it is or with a bit of added detailing.

Cheers, Capri - looks interesting, and at that price, I can see quite a few being sold for airfield dioramas.

Looks basically the same, but you won't have to buy a Stirling to get one any more!

Re: Forthcoming David Brown RAF Tractor
Oxford Diecasts also do a very nice Morris 8 and a Standard 12. These vehicles were used by the RAF as staff cars during WW2. A wee bit of repainting and they certainly look the part. I have the Morris and will get the Standard soon.
They appear keen to expand their range of inter-war vehicles so we may get a few more gems from them.
The Airfix DB tractor is a lovely little kit. However I can't justify spending the guts of £20 to get another one as I already have a completed Stirling on display and too many other projects to get through at the moment.

Wasn't aware we had to do the intro stuff all over again. Serves me right for not reading things properly. A trait that's gotten me into all sorts of scrapes over the years.

Ah, yes, but this one is 1:76, wheras the Airfix Kit was sold as 1:72. We'd have to check if it actually was. Did anybody here ever do that?PaulBradley wrote:Looks basically the same, but you won't have to buy a Stirling to get one any more!
