Blue grey overhauls with yellow may-west and white bone dome, it should be silver with the early type of visor but they have moulded the later type of bone dome that would have been white.

It's only because I started flying around the 1971 which was about the time when flying overhauls changed from grey to green and the old style may-west in yellow was still in use for next 5 to 10 years. I recall my first bone dome was the newer style white version but whenever it was U/S we had to use the older two piece bone dome that had a grey inner headset made of a canvas type material and a silver outer helmet that had a simple black visor, that had a simple single track running up the centre of the helmet. The later helmet started with the same visor but were soon changed for a twin visor (clear + black) system that had pivot points on either side. If I remember correctly the fixed wing pilots had a yellow bar on the front of their visor that would automatically lower the visor if they ejected.

I have started adding the decals, so far so good. Airfix have done a good job with the decals they are thin with very solid colours that go on and settle down with ease.

I'm now back to normal.

Both Gnats on short finals just the undercarriage to be painted on one and some small decals to be added to the other. Arials to be added to both.
