Re: Andrew's Mosquito build
I've been thinking about this and I reckon I can get the gear in once the nacelles are closed. There are four locating holes and I'm sure I can get the u/c located correctly with a blob of glue on the end!
So the nacelles will be closed up probably on Monday

Re: Andrew's Mosquito build
I hope you can go down that route without problems. Of course, once the nacelles are closed it will probably be a difficult job to prise them apart again without causing damage, to say nothing of spoiling your final paint job. If you are careful, perhaps the oleos will not get damaged during the rest of the construction phase.

Changed my mind! Building the gear first. Finally got time for some modelling again today and am halfway through one side. The whole assembly is 9 parts plus the wheels.

Re: Andrew's Mosquito build
The Mossie gear is pretty sturdy; if you knock it off, you have other issues

Yes I agree, that landing gear does look pretty strong!

And a bit more time this evening sees me up to this point. The gear seems very sturdy when it's all bolted together

Yes, very meaty, I think you'd have to jump on it to knock those off!

Re: Andrew's Mosquito build
I will try not to sit on it or anything
Got one nacelle closed up now which will need some filler. More my fault than the kit though!!
The other side has its u/c almost completed and should have the nacelle closed tomorrow. Hoping that side fits better as the first half of it was a much better job on my part.

Re: Andrew's Mosquito build
Quick update. Got both nacelles closed up now so it's starting to look like a mossie now! Tomorrow will be a filling/sanding effort and then I should be good to paint it. I am leaving gear doors and bomb bay doors etc off until after the main plane is painted.
