Wimbleton White ? Interesting name/blend -- is that from a range of MM colors, like figures or autos ?

Wimbleton White is the color of the early Ford Mustangs. Model Maters made this one. I like the way it came out. Not to over powering.

I'll tell you what OT, The result after the umasking has me psyched. The decals will really make it come to life but I need to gloss it first.

Wimbledon White is an odd name, I wonder if it replicates the shade of white they use for the tennis court markings which are maybe slightly off-white? The models that Chevrolet sell over here are small boxy affairs, not the proper big US cars but then again the latter would be far too expensive to run with the amount a gallon of petrol costs here!

That's a shame Dirk but what you have done so far is great, I'll look forward to the completed model when you do finish it.

I just got home a few hours ago. I was a way all weekend for a wedding. Once the kids are down and the unpacking is done I will see what more I can do. I don't believe this will be done tonight though

Well times up for me...

Here's where I am

The cannon on the spinner is solid and needs to be drilled out

Before
Image

After
Image

The spinner halves have been painted and the rear put in place

Image

Decals applied

Image

I had to make new gun barrels for the under wing gun pods. I couldn't get the originals to clean up as nice as I had hopped.

The bottom
Image

The top
Image

The prop blur in place. I didn't have the time I had hopped for to detail this a bit more

Image

Dress rehearsal, Airacobra on a stick

Image

Image

List of remaining tasks.

-Touch up the decals. Most of the stars and bars are out of register and there is lots of white showing
-Another coat of future to seal in the decals
-Weathering
-Radio wire
-Attach aircraft to the base
-Glamour shots in natural light

So you see there is lots to do and no time left. i will follow up this build in my workbench thread.

Thanks for looking.
