Yes, starboard side, but mine was a hole. There is no distincton between tire (tyre) and wheel on mine, it's featureless -- I'll fake it with paint.

All that stands between me and a completion is the main cockpit "glass", a quick touch-up around all the glass, and a coat of dull stuff.

Image

The photo-ref markings are on, the yellow surround is muted (purely guesswork), the fuselage antenna is appropriately truncated, the prop blades have been put on, a cannon installed, and etc ....

Image

As you can see, it does sit nicely on it's gear without external support. I have 3 pieces of cockpit glass in and drying -- these came with the kit. The missing piece did not, which is why it is called the missing piece. That will requires some blind surgery from a vac canopy ....

Image

As you can also see the gear has no covers, a tail hook has been installed ....

I may get the last piece of glass done today and if so, I'll call it done -- the dull coat doesn't really count.

If I don't get it done today, and I probably won't because too many things are drying right now, then it will have to be late Sunday afternoon when we get back ... that'll still be the 15th here.

If you mean silvering around the port serial number under the tail plane -- probably. On the C1 roundels on each side, I "painted over" the yellow band and that may look like silvering.

BTW, I forgot SWMBO was at book club tonight (50 & 60 years olds discussing "50 Shades of Grey" ) so I did get the vac canopy trimmed and on. Fit isn't great, but then again, neither is the basic kit ....

Should now be able to finish Sunday afternoon/evening easily .... if not, then we've had a problem getting home and I'd rather not ...

I'll say, I'm holding the remnants of a Black & White -- which is a Stout sitting on a Belgian White ....
Maybe I could borrow your online id ?

Is that a specialist bar, then, selling imported stuff? The stout and Belgian mix sounds interesting. I've been to Brussels in the past and tried some of their Trappist beers - not for the faint hearted and most of them I found a little too strong for my wimp's pallet!

It's a chain ( http://wobusa.com; ), focused mostly in Florida, but expanding. I see there is one in Raleigh, as Brews asked.
About a dozen page beer menu, heavy on European and US craft beers, in fact I'm not sure I saw any S.American or Asian and very little from a US major brewery.

Yes, I'm good for one strong Belgian and that's it -- sad shadow of my younger days -- although my shadow seems larger so I'm not sure what paradox rules here. BTW, a Belgian White Wheat might come in 4%-7% range; in the lower ranges they are quite good and drinkable -- not all are Trappist "faith testers".

I tried a "Dirty Czech" which is a Stout atop a Czech Lager -- good but not as brilliant as a Black & White, of which I had another, just to cleanse my palete, you understand. I am going to try to get my local bartender to do a Black & White, but first I have to persuade the owner to put the Guinness tap back in ....

Oops, back on topic .... We are home, I went down and filled some gaps around the canopy with Micro Kleer. In a while, I will go hide the evidence with some paint. It is only 1715 EDT here, so it's still the 15th.

Thanks for that, I always like to chat about beer! Our local pub brews its own and also features a selection of English craft beers or "real ale" as it is generally known over here and also ciders. Anyway, back to the build.............

15 July, to be exact 1915 hours, EDT, 15 July.

In sport one records wins and losses and there isn't a separate column for just how clean or ugly the victory might be, and so, in that light, I present my completed entry.

Tomorrow, sometime, I will put a dull coat on and maybe take a better set of pictures.

Good GB. I picked a dog and after having found my historically significant subject, wish I had a better kit to honor it with. I also wish I had more info on the appearance of the aircraft -- as I said earlier, I suspect a minor hodge-podge of overpaints had occured and that might have been fascinating.

Again, good GB - thanks Brews !
