Prisca's Fighting Lavochkin *Quit due to stress*
This will be my build.
And here's the version I'll be doing. Straight out of the box.
Being so out of practice I have no idea if I can make such an "easy build" within 24 hours without any disasters. But time will show. I'm glad just to participate again. And having fun is my main goal. Not building perfect models.
Start date you ask? Well I assume I'll kick off whenever the paint arrives. Perhaps in a week or so.

NICE, I hope that paint scheme won't slow you down too much. I look forward to watching your build.

Nice choice! One of my favourite World War Two fighters.

I see what's going on here, Sissel. Wasn't your first Blitz an La 5?

Re: Prisca's Fighting Lavochkin
Thanks guys. It will be fun.
Yes it was. My first and only Blitz. And believe me, it's a mere coincidence choosing the La-7 now.
I was also thinking of an A-36 in 1/48. If this build goes well I might give that one a go too.

I've had good luck with most Hobbycraft kits. They take some hits in the modeling community. The only trouble I had with this one was the rear cockpit decking. It is tough to fit.
You will enjoy this build.

Re: Prisca's Fighting Lavochkin
Good to hear, Jeff.
Am nervous already.
My worst fear is the paint job and seams. I messed up the filling and sanding on two kits I'm doing now (Revell's Reno Racer set). I've learnt a few tricks reading kit reviews and watching YouTube videos. Hopefully I can make use of them on this kit.

Great to see you back into the fray Sissel. Which brand of paints will you using, just out of interest?
Looking forward to following this one - I very much suspect you haven't lost the old magic at all
Cheers

Re: Prisca's Fighting Lavochkin
For this build it will be mostly Vallejo (which I'm still waiting for!), and a few Humbrol acrylics.
I've heard Humbrol acrylic is not suitable for brushing. But I'm giving them a go.
Magic?!?! Where's the magic??
I will be happy just to finish in time, and I pray the canopy fits well. I'm trying to finish Revell's Reno Racer set now. The T6 canopy is a horrible fit, why do they make them too small so often? Would have hoped to finish them so I can see how I do on painting, klearing and decalling before giving the blitzie a go.
However it looks like I'm at a stop point with them, so the La-7 could be my first finished model.

Re: Prisca's Fighting Lavochkin
I got the paint today so now I'm all ready and set up.
Only thing missing is a good date. It will not happen this weekend, so I can only hope for next week. But even that will be tough.
I might have to do two 12 hour, allthough I don't feel that is a real blitz. Monday afternoon seems to fit best. I will give it a go then.
