Here's Kate on the starting blocks. Classic Airfix Spitfire Vb in a cut-price RF-D gift set (though we picked up some proper paint)

...and you all know what this looks like, but here are the parts for completeness!

Kate will be reporting in herself from now on...

Hello! Thank you for all your support. As this is my first Blitzbau I think that I have chosen quite a good kit to get me started. Obviously the Spitfire is a Classic British Kit and seems to be coming together nicely. I've done the wings by first attaching the upper wings to the fuselage first to avoid any gaps. (if there are gaps it's easier to fix if their between the upper and lower wings rather than the wing and the fuselage. Or at least that's what my dad told me!)

Overall, i think it's going well so far and i'm enjoying it a lot!

Nice paintwork on the pilot Kate.

And your Dad is right about the wings! :)

Great work so far Kate. Nice one and it's always good to see Spitfires getting built.

All the best.

Pilot finished and propeller done. I'm going to put the propeller ion last after painting the main fuselage and wings. Also i've painted a few more fiddly pieces and stuck them on. Going to have a lunch break now and will continue at 2.

Ooooh goody...something to watch over lunchbreak.
Great start so far.
I'll assume your Dad also told you about dihedral and stuff as well? Pilot looks like an good start has been had...are you using acrylics for the internal stuff? I find it's useful to do so, so that it's all nicely dry by the time you come to close up the fuselage.

What a weird looking repast. A Ilkley meze?

Bruce.

That is a great tip about the wings Kate, I will use that. Your Dad never told me about it!

Or maybe he did & I just didn't listen, I bet he gets that a lot. :ha:
