I did. What has been seen cannot be unseen.
Would ya like to learn to fly? Would ya? Would you like to see me try?

Back in the game.
Un-masked and not too shabby, just a little touch up required at he cockpit.
I am celebrating with a Bakewell tart. Need some coffee too.

Re: OT Rides Again! 10am 28th.
looking at the red spot on the bakewell, this would make a good Red spotted What if.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Re: OT Rides Again! 10am 28th.
It's all coming together now.
I applied the white discs and the red didn't show through.
I let them dry and applied the Swaztikas.
Then it was time to fit Otto into the cockpit. It was a very tight squeze - I had to remove his legs & bottom.
Once he was in I could fit the canopy.
This is where I am at now & I will leave the decals to settle down with some MicroSol before I give the whole thing a coat of clear to seal it all in.
My research indicated that the P.111 should have 4x 30mm Cannons but only 2 are provided by the kit. I will improvise a couple more for the wing roots.
Then a little weathering and she is done.

I am calling this one done. (just as well - down to the last Bakewell tart & out of tea bags!)
An altogether enjoyable build of a sleek looking plane. I will take some better pictures tomorrow in daylight & get them in the gallery.

The red and white look great together. Added to the rich crumbly pastry it's a real treat. Model also good.

How many of us thought "Great scheme" and then realised what we were talking about, before we posted to that effect?
Re: OT Rides Again! ***Finished***
As much as I like that (and I most certainly do!) I was thinking if it might look better without the cannons and with a civil registration on the port wing instead of the balkenkreuz?
But putting my opinions aside, you've done a cracking job on that and should be well chuffed! Now go and buy some more tarts as a reward.

Nice work. Very imaginative.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale
