Chip's Falcon with teeth.

Post by Molly-new »

I will be getting to grips with this beastie:

Image

The sprues are well detailed, and having recently done the Revell F-16 MLU I know that it fits together really nicely.

The instructions are really well laid out:

Even for all the decals:

Looking forward to this. :-D

great choice Chip.

Is it Hasegawa? I thought Revell had an F-16C of their own.

F-16s are always cool but I have to say those stripes are even cooler. I look forward to seeing more of this one

Finally got some time to do a bit of modelling. I hate it when life/work gets in the way. :-D

Started off doing all the cockpit detail:

And then putting it all together:

The detail in the undercarriage bays is quite something, I may mount it on a mirror to get the best view once completed.

Should be fun ;-) I have learnt from past mistakes and will be making a scan before starting so that any that get messed up can be re-printed.

looking nice; one point to be careful with is the little arial mountings on the spine. you may want to remove them before you try adding the decals, they might not sit flat otherwise.

Sometimes we have to make sure real life steps aside for beauty design work :-D

Nice start Chip. I wouldn't start to worry yet there is still plenty of time.

Nice tip, I will have to remember that when I reach the decal stage.

I have started to fit it together but keep finding little gremlins with the kit:

Image

The carpet monster got one of the navigation lenses so I have used Krystal Klear instead.

Image

Removal of the tail has been a problem so I will have to replace the static discharger which had broken off.

I intend to get it all together this weekend. ;-)

Good start Chip. I don't particularly like the way they've attached those tail sections to the sprue, hardly surprising one of the static dischargers paid the ultimate price!

Piss poor way to attach the part on the company part but it should be relativity easy to replace the static discharger

Too true. I have replaced it with a bit of stretched sprue for now. I will have to see how many I can knock off myself during painting. (The last one I did I lost ALL but one  ).

The construction of the main frame is complete and ready for painting:

I hope to get it sprayed today seeing as it is pis...istently raining, and has been for the last 12 hours.
