Ian's Flying Tiger
Ian's Flying Tiger
I'll be building a Revell 1:72 RF-4E from the their Tigermeet box set.
Sprues.
Decals.
And after a bit of jiggery-pokery and a little magic (and possibly some witchcraft too) it should end up looking exactly like this -
Yeah, right!

Re: Ian's Flying Tiger
Glad to see I'm not the only one going easy on the tiger stripes.
Good luck, Ian.
I'm sure it will be a beauty.

Re: Ian's Flying Tiger
I've been working on the tub.
It looks better in real life - super macro is very unforgiving.
Just the moulded on belts to paint (and not in yellow as Revell would have me do) then I can glue the seats in and start assembling the front end of the jet.

Macro is unforgiving, but you've done a good job on that 'pit. I often place the canopy over a cockpt I've worked on and usually gain much reassurance from the experience!
Vacform canopy? We don' neeed no steeeeeeeeeenkin' vacform canapés!

Yep, it DOES look good Ian. I know about the micro.
Like the pic I took of the instrument panel showed trimming is needed on the decals, but they are so tiny it will be hard to do it.
Seats look great to.

Nice work on the cockpit. I have just started working from the other end so we can meet in the middle.

Re: Ian's Flying Tiger
Good start Ian. I generally stay away from the super macro setting with my efforts, preferring stand-off mode instead
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Re: Ian's Flying Tiger
Photos are unforgiving but your cockpit is coming along nicely Ian!
I also have some doubts on the seat colors given by Revell in the instructions of my G91.
However I will not take too much time on the interior as the exterior is surely going to need most of the work!
By the way... the PhantomII is a GREAT aircraft!!!!! One of my favourites
Cheers,
Eugenio
