That's a decent enough paint job Ian, once the anthracite is sorted it should look pretty good IMHO.

I see that you have a very useful colour paint guide to work from. Did it come with the kit or did you download it from somewhere?

So a little more progress. Camo finished. A couple of coats of Klear. Some decals and I'm in the process of painting the tail.

Alongside this I am also working on the undercarriage and fuel tanks.

The colour guide came from the Don Color website - very useful place and well worth a visit.

The camo is beautiful Ian!

I imagine painting the yellow on the tail must have been quite a job!

That's looking sweet, I really like the colours, I still think I took the easy way out with the all yellow and black version, masking that would have driven me mad.

Thanks guys.
I got a second coat of yellow on the tail yesterday evening so today I will try to complete the decals. Then it's another enforced break as I'm working nights for the rest of the week :(

The thermometer in the conservatory says 'cold' so I'm decalling in the kitchen, where it's warm.

I hate stencils. Really really hate them.
And I think the F-4 is probably the worst aircraft for stencils. Well done Revell for producing such a complete decal sheet.......

Done. 2 hours to apply 30 decals!
Just the 8 to go on the undercarriage doors - which still need painting.

The stencils may be a pain, but well worth the effort in the end. Lots of appropriate visual noise! ;-)

I know Bruce. Sadly I know - hence spending painful time working on them.

But we now have a tigery looking Phantom coming together.

The tail decals didn't meet at the top so I have touched up with black paint.

With a couple of coats of Klear on it you'll never know.

I'm at a point now where I can start thinking about weathering!
