Draken's Fiat with stripes

Post by Draken »

Hi everyone!

Finally got started on my Portuguese Tiger!

This is the content of the box:

Bright yellow... :ha: !!!

Working on the cockpit, the wheel bays and the exhaust as they will be inserted between the fuselage halves.
Also started preparing the undercarriage and wheel bays doors.

Image

The kit's cockpit is mostly pure fantasy but it looks busy enough (and I'll keep the canopy closed!)
I only added ejection handles made of wire on top of the seat as it really looked naked without them.

Nice work on the seat and cockpit.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Nice start and there seems to be some decent enough detail in this kit. I have to say that I'm not too keen on the bright yellow plastic though, I'd have to build that with my shades on
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Thanks everyone! You're all very kind!

Did a bit more work but I don't have the time now to post more pictures  hopefully I'll manage tomorrow.

BTW I am really enjoying following all your builds ;-) !

Thanks for watching.

Cheers,
Eugenio

The yellow plastic reminds me of Matchbox kits. With this one you can simply assemble and add the decals for that instant tiger!

It did remind me of Matchbox kits  ! I suppose this color was chosen to help beginners but it's totally wrong!
It should have been orange, not yellow. And it's really annoying on the eyes...

Also I wouldn't recommend this kit to a beginner because of all those decals.

Anyway here are a few more pictures, haven't had much time to stay at the workbench  !

the wheel and airbrakes bays

the complete cockpit

and all the pieces in place together with some weight to avoid tailsitting (I hope...)

Like the detail in the wheel bay. It's all coming along very nice.
Also like the bombs infront of cockpit. :-D

Coming along nicely indeed,

I also use lead shot for nose weight, what weight are those ones up front?

Regards
