LST 1:72 model kit

If it goes on or under the wet stuff and doesn't fly, it's in here.

LST 1:72 model kit

Post by JohnP »

I'm new to building models although I do collect 1:72 scale WWII armoured fighting vehicles. I want to build an LST in that scale, but would like a model kit (not sure if I'm ready to build from scratch). Can anyone recommend a vendor that sells these? Thanks.

You do realise that in 1/72 that's a really big project (about 1.5 meters worth of boat).. Not something I'd recommend to a self declared beginner..
I don't know of any kits of these ships, but if they exist, I would suspect scales of 1/350 or smaller.

You might get a better answer if you asked the admins to move this to the "Ships, boats, and submarines" forum, as this is about a ship, not an airplane.

Check out this link it shows an excellent modeler scratch building a LST and as you can see in 1/72 it is big. http://www.uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=7827

If you are just starting out try the Airfix LCT or Higgings boat

That looks great Ratch although a fair size I would imagine - almost big enough to climb in and sail around the local park lake :ha:
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Work is the curse of the modelling classes!
