Good to see you back, Patrick, and with such an impressive result.
Guys, it is worth clicking on Sailorman's 'profile' button and looking at his past posts - unfortunately not very many. Be interesting to get him, vacant, and lonemodeller in a room together ...

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

Hi John,
I'm hoping to semi-retire next year so hopefully you'll see more of me around.

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Actually I use stretched sprue. I keep assorted colours .... grey, brown etc. The problem is that you cannot tighten it so what I do is fix the lengths in place and then light a match. Holding the model in one hand I "wave" the match under the rigging very, very carefully and heat it up. At a certain point the sprue will "spring" taut. It's a balancing job. You don't want to burn your model......you'd need a lot more heat to melt your model than to tighten the sprue. I sometimes get it wrong and crinkle up the rigging and have to start all over again........I've considered trying a hair drier ... but never got around to doing it.
For goodness sake if you fancy trying it DON'T do it on your model the first time! Try a few dry runs...!

It sounds like a recipe for disaster if I tried that!

That, Patrick, is a bloody masterpiece!!!!!
(Re tensioning stretched sprue - I use a pin which has been heated up in the flame of a candle held firmly in a small pair of pliers, it can be a little nerve wracking but it does the job)
