Splash's Telford builds

If it goes on or under the wet stuff and doesn't fly, it's in here.

A plesent couple of hours working on the Plymouth has got her aft mast closer to completed and the forward mast thinned down and looking better.

The bit that's worrying me is how to make the SeaCat launcher :???:

These are lovely to watch progressing. I wish I could make the trip to Telford!

Give me a clue what you are trying to make - ie a picture - and I'll see what I can suggest. Did any other kits have one? I might have spares but not know what it is

Not much to wrestle with then

a bit of sprue shaped and rounded for what to me seems like the launcher bit up the middle and some thin bits of evergreen to pad around it in places in the lower section and a washer or some circular bit (which your new toy can probably cough up quite easily) to differentiate top bit from the bottom

then for the 8 thin bits that look to be paired and in the corners with a bit of something to each pair that has a curved profile and joins the respective 2 long thin bits ...

wire bent and twisted and then cover it with Tamiya tape or a couple of coats pva glue and paint over that

:-D

I could go for the easy option  at sea the launcher was covered with a plastic cover that gave it the look of a cube with a traffic cone on the top.

I have gone for a simple launcher without its missiles.

Normally I'm not a fan of PE but on these small scale ships it gives the empty decks more depth.

Just the main mast, decals and some minor details to sort out.
