To try and fill in a table at Model Mania, I decided to take some resin models along. I had a few reasonable test shots to give away to other modellers.

These are to 1/1200 scale, to match all the Triang Minic ships.

I have some originals that I master in plastic card and I do some copies and mods to the old Triang models.

Saxonia is converted into Franconia. Flandre is converted into Carla C. That sort of thing.

Hoping to add to the Minic Range for modellers by producing some of the ships that they didn't get around to, such as a British Rail Ferry, SD14 ( Available now.) Barges ( Also available now.) a 'Cargo Ship.' ( Building ) plus a number of RN Vessels to go with the originals. I try to make them look like the original series.

I have a load of harbour parts, including a Flour Mill, based on the Baltic at Gateshead.

I'm looking to do some 1/600 scale stuff, too. These will go with the Airfix range.

I have all the drawings that were done by R A Sweet and I'm reducing these down to 1/1200.

Hi Paul.. I don't actually have a website, though I suppose that I should. After I was made redundant and took it as early retirement, I was looking at a few things that I could do. One was making a range of ships to match the old Minic models that were available in the early 60's. I still had quite a few of these in my collection and would have like to make up the rest. I found quite a few, but decided to do a few more, including ones that were due for release, but never issued.

I tried a few ideas for mastering with plastic etc and it seemed OK, so I started making multi use dock sides that would match both Minic at 1/1200, but would also suit other scales. I have moulds for all the elements first planned and am looking to make a few featured items to complement the range. I also have a few ships, but they were expensive to get moulded, so I have experimented with making my own. They are improving and I am now working on making new rubber moulds in T25 rubber, rather than the harder T28. So far, so good. Then I went back to work until my pension cut in, and I still do a few hours part time. I will hopefully do a bit more on the 1/1200 later. I have a number of ships half built.

I am quite happy to sell models to anyone who wants them. I'll have to make a list of the resin parts I already have. I'm not going to get rich on these, but as long as I break even, I'm OK. I work under the name 'The Waterline Model Company,' which no one else has picked up on. I've been doing these since 2008. Nearly ten years.

I'll produce a short list of items and post them , in case anyone is interested.

It's actually the Hood, after the planned rebuild that never happened.

I am working on a conversion for both Hood and Bismarck.

More years ago than I care to remember (about 70) my grandfather gave me a plastic harbour that I could add a small bit of water and sail my Minic(?) ships. Fondly remembered Grandad!
