If it goes on or under the wet stuff and doesn't fly, it's in here.

Hobbyboss 1/350 Type IX-C U-Boat

Post by Bill_B »

As diversion from building cars and tanks I decided to have a go at a favourite maritime craft of mine, a WWII U-Boat. I know the flag pole is missing and that the VLF aerials are drawn too tight, but apart from those errors I’m fairly pleased with this quick build ‘OOTB’ project.
At less than a tenner I believe this diminutive KIT offers good value for money and is a very well moulded model. As an idea of scale, the sub is less than 8” long. Anyway, enough talk, here’s the finished product.

That's excellent Bill!
Best wishes

The railings look surprising good for this scale. The insulator (?) blobs on the antennas are a nice touch. Well done.

Thanks for the kind comments, much appreciated. :)

BTW, The insulators are simply blobs of CA glue painted red/brown and the VLF wires we’re supplied courtesy of my better half’s copious amount of blonde hair, and then painted dark grey. :-D
