Rescued from the Shelf of Doom.

Originally started two years ago, much work was done before I ran out of spares and momentum.
Based on the Revell boxing of the Pyro model of the Mississippi side paddle steamer "Robert E. Lee", and destined for a place on my yet to be built model railway.
By increasing the deck heights a 300 foot long ship at a scale of 1/271 has become 170 foot long ship at N scale.

I'm calling her done, though I would like a couple more benches on the front of the top deck and also a few more people. Additionally, the flag poles (Jack Staff's?) have not been fixed into position as I look for appropriate flags to adorn them.

Comments and criticism welcome.

Is that a plastic kit-build, GR? Regardless, that is nicely done and I hope you'll post pics of it when you make it a part of your railway.

Wow.
(I seem to recall you starting this some time back, worth 2 years to see it).

That's an impressive build and great vision for converting it's scale!

Yes it is as Stated, a Revell boxing of a much older kit that is showing its age. If all goes well, I will be using some of what was left over from this kit in the krap kits group build.

I recall when you first started this build, I thought you must be mad rescaling a kit like that, but you proved your totally sain and done a brilliant job of it.

When do we get to see photos of it on your railway layout?

When it gets built.
At the moment I am working on (occasionally) a preformed base for me to learn and practice techniques (and make silly mistakes) required for a layout.
It was picked up cheap and badly started off ebay.
