Santa Clara AKA La Nina

I am building the Heller Nina. There a few things that need fixing. The main one is the absence of any way to get sea water off the deck:shock:
My reference book shows them as slots in the bulwarks.
The problem is how to replicate them. Drilling multiple holes and joining them is one way. As is using little decals or painting them in are other ways.

I also have a small problem re the crew.
I purchased a box of Spanish 1/72 conquistadors made of that horrible soft plastic as used by Airfix for their !/72 figures.

If I put them in either the 'fridge or the freezer will this help me to remove their weapons? ie cut bits off. I have modified the priest/monk/frire and he has turned out reasonably.
Any ideas will be gratefully accepted.

I'd be tempted to go for the drill and file route for the drainage slots; at 1/72 they will be big enough to be noticeable and do-able.

No idea on the figures I'm afraid!

For the figures try using a fresh scalpel blade as that type of plastic does not respond well to sanding or glue
