Airfix 1/600th HMS "BELFAST"

If it goes on or under the wet stuff and doesn't fly, it's in here.

Airfix 1/600th HMS "BELFAST"

Post by Taurusboy »

This is my first attempt at a ship. I got the kit (sealed) for
peanuts so thought I would give it a try. It has been a very
fiddly job but I hope worth it.

I don't usually venture onto the ships bit of the website, however, seeing this Belfast takes me back a bit as I attempted it back in the mid 70's. The finished result didn't look as good as your does!! Ships take a lot of patience and I do appreciate the effort that goes into them.

Always worth trying something new as you can pick up new skills and techniques, or just get interested in a whole new area. Nice job Pete.

Hello Bernard
Thanks for your appreciation, it is
very encouraging as I would really like to
do the "Suffolk" as my brother was on board
(a gunner) During the "Bismark" engagement
and he is now 93!!
Kind regards,
Pete.

Hello Brews,
Thanks for your post and comments. I agree 100% about the seam
and I must admit that I could have used more diligent filling but I
was a bit overawed by the task and possibly did'nt use as much care
asI should have. However if I do build the "Suffolk" I will be making
it for my brother and will put my best into it.
Kind regards Brews,
Pete.
