TAMIYA 1/350 KING GEORGE V

If it goes on or under the wet stuff and doesn't fly, it's in here.

Well finally here we have some pictures  The hull was sprayed using rattle cans and lots of masking tape, a random Red oxide primer was used for the anti fouling, Humbrol H27 and H64 rattle cans were used for the greys, i started by painting the black line by hand masked using 6mm Tamiya tape then went from there.

Loads of superstruture was sprayed at the same time and the detail painting is now under way and there is going to be a lot of this. Although an old kit the moulding is superb no flash and plenty of detail.

Thanks for looking and there may be an update in a few months :-D

Ah, beer cans for scale - good idea..... :ha:

Looks good, Bromo! Just playing around with my Heller 1/400 Colossus today by coincidence - it's about time I started building one of the many ship models I have in my stash.....

I built (and finished!!) the Heller 1/400 Surcouf submarine in the 80s...apart from the supplied plane being very generic, the vessel itself went together very well. Unfortunately I got rid of it when I standardised my scales but I can certainly recommend that kit, small as it is...

Bit basic, but then it is about 40 years old! Looks pretty accurate from what I can tell, but the exterior detail is simplified. I've bought the WEM PE set and have some l'Arsenal guns on order, so those should help. One thing I haven't found is some 1/400 Sea Furies and Fireflies...

Yes they are Carling now do rattle cans in any colour you want, I think its part of the campaign against Carlsberg, if Carling did spray cans they would be the best you could get.

Shouldn't that be 'probably....'
Best wishes

I wouldn't rattle them too much Martin. It could get messy ;-)

Nice looking build so far. I've been trying to pluck up the courage to try and sneak an etched brass set into the house for mine
