Picked up for free a few years ago at an IPMS show here in Vancouver......I originally wanted to do it as it looked at the end of WW2, scuttled and dishevelled, but that may wait a while. As it is, I grubbied it up a bit. Might do more ships, and lay off the aircraft for a while......

Nice one. I keep threatening to build a ship. I will one day once I've cleared the immediate backlog of planes and tanks!

Thanks, Shaun. I myself have a substantial stash of ships models, mostly in 700 scale, and I think 2014 may be the year I get some of them done. I am almost (but not completely) winged and treaded out. It's time for some shipbuilding, for sure.

I haven't built a ship model since my youth. Hiding in the stash is a Tamiya Pibber which, whilst hardly a battle cruiser, is nevertheless a boat and I will give it a go. I also like the look of that Revell U-Boat which was built by Dazzled further down this section of the forum.

The Pibber would look very cool in an Apocolypse Now-inspired diorama, I bet. And yes Dazzled's U-boat is a winner, too. Maybe you've already seen my restored (sort of) Aurora U-156....

U-156 looks great and found in a free box? you can't go wrong An Apocolypse Now diorama would look great for the Pibber I agree - if someone with more skill was building it. I'll have to limit my meagre talents to attempting to make the kit look a little like the real thing

I'm keen to get one of these to motorise and R/C. Might order one for my birthday in April.

Yeah, motorising these little guys would be a blast. I have the Nichimo 200th scale type IX that can be motorised as well as the 700th scale Aoshima IJN Kongo which looks as though it could be as well. And with the electricals available now it could be a fun time at the next duck pond. Now, if I could only remember which box they are in.........
