VANGUARD SSBN - and the rest!

Completing my year, Bronco's 1/350 scale HMS VANGUARD joins my Astute Class and Trafalgar class submarines. A relatively easy build although the long seam on the hull requires a little care and filler.




Sitting them alongside each other provides an interesting comparison of size. Yes they are all to the same scale. And I always thought the T-boats were large!

That's a nice looking SSBN, Fred. I like the launch in progress. It adds an extra something to the finished model.

That's a great trio and Vanguard is certainly a big 'un and I agree, the launch in progress adds interest. Modern boats don't half look sinister!

Those are very nice. I seem to have been infected with Submarine-itis myself!, I've just done HMS Trafalgar and have a HobbyBoss HMS Astute coming (both 1/350th). Trying to get Vanguard but it's was out of stock. Might look around as this set looks worth doing myself.
By the way, does anyone know if you can get HMS Conqueror (of Falklands War fame/infamy!! ) Can't seem to find one so would appreciate knowledge if anyone knows of a kit.

My Bronco Models Vanguard arrived today, finally!!!. Ordered it in January but just come back into stock!. Huge ship/sub/boat, will look good with my HobbyBoss Astute and Airfix Trafalgar.

As an ex Royal Navy ASW Aircrewman we always called them targets

This always wound up the Submariners as they always call surface skimmers targets. They always said to us we can't touch your helicopter but we can hit your mother ship

Having said that back in the 70's they did trial fitting Blowpipe on a mast that could be raised above the water when they were submerged, I think they trailed it on an "A" class or it might have been a P or O class.
