Well you got there in the end Splash, that little devil certainly put up a fight though. It looks great, a proper little cutie  Yes, I'll drink to that too. In fact I am, right now - it is Saturday night after all.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Nice final pictures Splash, well done on getting this model finished and it looks great - in particular I find those Kamov contra-rotors are really eye catching.

This is my first attempt at an Amodel kit and I have found it a slight challenge, the quality of the kit is what you might expect from a limited run kit with lots of flash and varying degrees of detail on the parts.

This is not a starter kit for a beginner as the instructions are basic and the rotor head is complex like on the real thing, but if you have got a few classic kits and a bit of scratch building under your belt, it can be a fun build of a very unusual little helicopter.

I suppose the test is would I build another and the answer is a definite YES, now I know the pit falls of the kit I will happily build another in fact I have two more in my stash on a crop sprayer and the other the slightly larger four seat version.

Most of the problems I came across in the build were my doing, if I built the same kit again I would replace all the rods connecting the floats to the body with thin brass rod as the kit parts look over scale and a bit chunky, the rotor blades could do with scratch building as well as the whole of the rotor head.

I think the lesson to learn from my build is don't be put off by Amodel kits they are build-able they just need more work and a bit of scratch building to turn out good.

Great looking model there Splash. I know how tricky that kit is and you've done a super job on it.
