Splash's Kamov Ka-15 ***finished***

Our 3rd helicopter GB .... odd for a Forum that favors airplanes that actually fly and not those gangly objects that must instead be flown ....

:boom:

I don't believe it whilst applying the decals I noticed I had made a school boy error and fitted the two tails on 90 degrees out of alignment, they should have the large edge at the front and small edge at the rear.

It's not a major problem as they will come off with ease, what will take longer is stripping the paint and re painting it orange and white.

So I'm declaring this one crashed on short finals and a non finisher.

Can't you stick them in a little bag with some oven cleaner overnight? Should strip off the paint in no time for you to make a quick start on re-painting tomorrow. Just enough time then to re-paint the orange on Friday...

It's knocked the wind out of my sails, so I think I will take a break and finish it in slow time.

Oh dear, that one passed us all by although in fairness it is quite an esoteric little fella and I doubt there are many Kamov experts amongst us. Still, can't you swap them over Splash, put the left tail on the right and right on the left which might leave a minimal touch up of the paint or would that not work either?

All might not be lost, I found this image showing the taill in all over orange, so the build might be back on.

Excellent. If you're very close to a finish Splash, there could of course be a bit of flexibility regarding the end of the GB, not too much mind as it has been a long build, but a bit nevertheless ;-) I have also mentioned this to OT as you and he seem to be on the cusp of finishing and have suggested until Sunday before I ask JRatz to finally wrap the GB up. I'll probably get told off for suggesting this but I'm prepared to take one for the team
