Re: SARowl's Lynx Prototype
Excellent work with those self made decals John, I have to admit I would have been stuffed there. I've experienced similar issues with older Matchbox decals myself with the Comet tank that I built in the summer but, of course, such problems are not limited to Matchbox as any old decals can act up like that - as indeed can some newer offerings! I'll look out for your "Shark" Gazelle in due course - should make a smart looking model.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Re: SARowl's Lynx Prototype
The decal is on the nose. The decal did crack a little when it was applied, perhaps another coat of Klear would have helped. Anyway, I'm running out of time so it'll have to do.
Just a few bits and pieces to do in this final assembly stage. Firstly I added the mast for the tail rotor telemetry cable. I'll make the the cable from invisible thread and add it at the very end to avoid breakages.
FOD shields added.
The exhaust pipes are a little too thick, so I filed them out.
And painted them sooty grey inside and bronze/silver outside.
I also added and painted various pitot tubes and aerials. Now it's drying ready for a final varnish. Talk about building up to the wire...

Re: SARowl's Lynx Prototype
You have done a great job, its looking brilliant, I watch the original do a flying display at RNAS Yeovilton airday in 1970, at that time it was still called the WG13 just before they named it Lynx.

Re: SARowl's Lynx Prototype
Excellent work John, but don't rush too much. As with Splash and OT you are very close to completion so I am prepared to allow until Sunday before I ask JRatz to wrap this up. When I started out on this I made my mind up that there would be no extension unless there were members who were very close to finishing by the official end date, whereupon I would take a view on the situation. In other words, I would only consider an extension if there was the chance of models being finished by doing so. This does not apply to my build as I don't want it to appear that I've granted an extension for my own benefit

Re: SARowl's Lynx Prototype **Finished**
Thanks James.
My plan is to work through all the the available models and marks of Lynx finishing up with the Airfix 1/48 and Revell 1/32. My next Lynx is the Frog as a RN HAS1 - Navy prototype. In my stash I have the Airfix HAS2 and HMA8, the Fujimi and the Hobbyboss all at 1/72...
