Re: OT's Hip replacement
There's a lot of body, including the tail boom, behind the main gear OT and I think these machines have a bit of a tail down stance on the ground anyway - she may well be a sitter.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

A lead 'crate', stowed at the front of the hold, would save embarrassment later, perhaps?

I will chuck a big lump of fishing weight at it before I close the doors.martin hale wrote:I think I would try and get a little extra weight in just to be on the safe side.
Martin
I managed a quick few minutes before bed last night and fettled the engine area, fit is interesting!
The instructions would have you fit the engine intakes upside down. I spotted that though.
Filler was required all round the engine bay and serious sanding is called for.
Other areas have serious fit issues too. Just look at this flare dispencer?
Fortunately it is not needed on the East German version so I can just remove the offending lump.
More to follow on this later but I am not sure it will be completed by the deadline. It is giving me too much grief.

Re: OT's Hip replacement
Sorry to say that I am going to have to put this beast on hold as it is fighting me all the way so it won't get finished during this GB.
I am going to try and concentrate on the Mil Mi-2. I guess I was too ambitious going for two kits in the same group build.

Given my own 100% DNF GB record OT I could say that it was too ambitious of me to go for one kit in the same groupOld_Tonto wrote:

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter, it's the taking part with GBs IMHO. Look on the bright side, at least two builds gives you two options - best of luck finishing the Mi-2.

OT, the Revell kit looks quite nice, I'm a bit of a sucker for a Russian bird with a large parts count!
