Yeah. And the USMC Cobra crew was Reservists out of Mississippi USA. The Red Dogs. The Military Channel did the story called Operation Red Dog. Good stuff.

Where are the ammo trays? Do they open down like a bench seat or something?

Jeff I'm thinking you need some figures to do that!

In Afghanistan, the USMC picked up and re-located a Special Ops team (not all in one trip) by belting them onto the open ammo tray hatches in the nose.
The Royal Marines did a similar thing, but strapped themselves on the wings of an Apache...

Brave people, all of them.

During Desert, Cobra crews had a piece of rope attached to the inner rocket pod and the crews wore a carabiner "just in case."

I have to get my game on as I may be deployed to the East Coast (or West Virginia) on or around November 11th.

Time to air taxi to the paint hanger.

Well, when I was last on the thread I had the primary painting done. Now I have the insides of the canopy painted. Things are getting back on track.

Color used is Model Master Desert Storm Tan enamel. Good base, dries slow.

The decal process has been uneventful (he boldly states). I am using the Future technique. Future gloss coat, apply decal and Future to settle it down. Not sure how the Revel Germany decals would work with the Micro twins.

At any rate, lots of placards. I know in my Army Aviation days (1970-72) they would slowly get painted over in time. But it does break up the overall Desert Tan finish.
