Re: Barry's Sikorsky HO3S-1 1/72 MPM
Give up? Still a goer? Never had any thoughts about binning this one. When the going gets tough the tough get out the superglue...or a cold beer....whatever
It's very blue now. I meant to add the boarding steps and various antenna masts before painting but forgot, so now I'll have to be extra careful not to screw up the finish getting them in place. Next though, is painting the yellow warning band around the rear of the tail boom.

That is a nice bit of gloss paintwork there Barry - pity our ageing VW car doesn't shine up as well as that!
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Thanks Shaun. Pity that this aging modeler doesn't either.

No one will know the trouble that lies beneath that smooth glossy finish. Interesting that the tail rotors were unpainted, showing off the wood.

Right, James...that caught me by surprise too. Kit instructions call for main and tail rotor blades to be black.

Well, I'm going to finish it except for one thing: The other ' M A R I N E S' decal disintegrated and I don't have any white lettering to replace it. Easiest solution will be to get a replacement from someone with this kit who intends to use the 'US Navy' option. Most likely, I'll just turn the blank side to the wall until I can find the proper font/size letters to piece it together.

Very smart looking Barry, great job. I really love the early U.S. Navy/Marines blue schemes with those high-viz markings. What a shame about that decal, it is such a PITA when that happens. Still, I hope you can sort a replacement.

Barry I should be able to help out with the decals as I'll be Britifying mine.

Finished except for starboard side decal which James Perrin has kindly offered to provide. Thank you very much James, and thank you Shaun for an enjoyable and well managed GB.

A fantastic finish Barry, will inspire me to when I turn my attention to this kit.
