It pretty much is the Avro 504.. in a fairly convoluted story.. Cierva used the 504 body for the C6, which got licensed to the Soviets (and a certain Red Engineer called Kamov) for the KASKR prototypes.
The paint is still a wee bit tacky at 24 hours, so little progress.. I've discovered that the cowling doesn't nearly fit.. so moar sanding & filling & swearing ahead

Thanks for that info Mike, so that's why I made a subconscious link to the 504!

Still unable to post photos (hopefully rectified soon) but here is a status update: the kaskr 2 is built and rigged, the rotors are ready to go on... The only snag? The skid from underneath has gone missing in the move. Argh. Scratchbuilding time.

Hopefully your photo woes will be quickly sorted Mike, it'll be great if you can finish the sole autogyro of the build. A bit of scratch building puts hairs on your chest

Hairs on my chest are not a problem... On me head however... That's a different story!
Skid scratched, now just got to wait for the paint to dry and we'll be good to go.

Great stuff, I'm looking forward to seeing some shots of this. The "hairs on your chest" thing was something my old dad used to say, particularly when trying to persuade me to eat certain foods that I wasn't keen on when I was a nipper, for example "eating those sprouts will put hairs on your chest". Needless to say, I wasn't that struck on having a hairy chest at 10 years old so the tactic didn't work

Sorry in an attempt to delete duplicated posts I seems to have deleted both, or maybe some else was modding at the same time. Any way from my browser cache here's Mike's post:
