Chuck's Blitzed Spitfire.
All done in 6 hours. No prepainted parts, or assembly. It can be done after all. I remember building one in a single evening when it first came out.
Rushed together. No issues with the fit of any parts.
No filler anywhere.
All rubbed down to remove the boiler maker's rivets.
Looking nice and smooth. Not a bad old kit.
A touch of primer to show up the flaws. The plastic has swirls in it, so this really shows that the joints are good.
The primer has shown up a small gap. Soon dealt with. I've made new brass u/c legs as the originals are very fine and a little brittle. Managed to break one twice.
First coat of Aluminium did the trick. Just a little polish to tidy it up. The new Halford's Aluminium is slightly different. It's not quite as bright.
Decals on and the details painted. All done ! 6 hours. A few imperfections, but basically not too bad.
I may add a little wash of Kleer and matt black to seal the decals and highlight the control surfaces.

Nice One. 6 hours? It takes me 6 months to build the smallest thing and even then it doesn't turn out as good as this one.

Wow!
I thought I was doing well....! Got my airframe together, but I needed some filler at the back on the underside.
Good stuff, Chuck - you've time to do 30 more before the end of the GB.....!

Re: Chuck's Blitzed Spitfire.
Despite its age it can still rock, the parts fit together really well and it is still quite accurate. This should again be re-popped by Airfix as one of their range of Spitfires and it would be perfect as part of a new BBMF fighter set.

Impressive result, all the more considering you did it in less than one day!!
I will chuffed if I get mine finished by the deadline.

Re: Chuck's Blitzed Spitfire.
Thanks for the comments chaps. It was an OOTB build, so no improvements were made. I have another of these somewhere, but I can't put my hands on it for some reason. Maybe I'll get to do another with a corrected nose.
