Andrew's Widgeon/Gosling

Post by AceSeafire »

I will also be attempting this one for this GB. I'm leaning towards doing this one as the US Coast Guard version for a bit of variety as the FAA version is to be built by another GB participant

This looks very pretty with the yellow wings.

Hi Andrew,
Looking forward to seeing this build of yours, I always liked this kite and for some reason could never finish it when I was younger. I remember trying to build it and having a right mare!
Best Regards

Good luck with this Andrew.

I've just started building one myself;

It's certainly a challenge!

Well I have made a start on this today after deciding the catalina can wait until closer to the Christmas break.

Nothing much to report so far. It did take me about 45 minutes to get to the point in the picture, which is essentially glueing 4 bits of plastic together. There are lumps and bumps all over the place which needed to be addressed before the parts would even think about mating together. Still, it wouldn't be fun if it was easy

Sorry for the lack of updates on this build. Combination of a new job and the run up to Christmas mean I have little time!

Here is the latest pic. I have the windows in and the wing floats are drying as are the engines. The engines were far too thin and the guide holes for the floats were miles off. All sorted not though I think

Any more progress on the Gosling Andrew, or have you overdosed on Christmas and New Year cheer? ;-)

Sorry again for the lack of updates. I have been very busy and just haven't been able to find the time to sit down to this. Having said that I have made some more progress and am confident I can finish by Sunday. It would be pretty embarrassing to not finish this one in time!

Here is the current state of play. Pretty much painted. Going to do it with the wheels up as I might put it in a diorama at a later date.
