Cheers, guys - though this isn't a kit I'd recommend, TBH. Not one of Airfix's best.

You might not be able to rcommend it Paul but you've done a fantastic job of whipping it into shape

Really great work. I'm halfway through my build of this model so I can appreciate the quality of your finish.

Cheers, guys - you flatter me!
Well, here she is finished:
By no means an Airfix gem, it could really do with being retired. Nevertheless, we learn something from every model we build - this one was a lesson in patience.

Pretty good considering what you started with. With the lack of surface detail it reminds me of some wooden models I have seen.

Re: Paul's Widgeon
Cheers, James. I know - looks too toy-like, doesn't it? Should have re-scribed more, but then I didn't add a panel line wash either - the lines that I did add are very fine. Nevertheless, a useful re-learning experience, for when I start to do proper projects again in the New Year.

You fought it and won! Great job!

Good job, Paul !!
You could always claim you saved a tree by replicating a carved wood model in styrene .... nah, probably wouldn't fly
