Gee, some pictures would have been nice ....

FWIW, I have always liked a semi-gloss over aluminum ... but try it on a test piece.

The point of a GB build is that you do, else the group bit flounders :ha:

.... anyway the great progress you seem to be ahead of the curve ;-)

aye, point taken.
In other news, a brief aaargh with two broken props (oh my clumsy, clumsy hands!), acrylic silver purchased for patching and a couple of tests of varnishes about of go on (underside of the floats seems to be the place to hide a multitude of sins  )

All things being equal, and with a Day Off tomorrow, this should be done right soon. With pictures, of course :-D

:boom: AAARGH AAARGH and AAARGH blimmin' AAARGH!
Model is built.. I turned to those remarkably well-preserved decals.. and they disintegrated the second they touched water.. and by disintegrated I MEAN disintegrated.. no possibility of recovery. It's not like I've got lots of 1/144 Pan Am decals in my spare box either... I don't know what the heck to do right now...

I'll see if I have any left overs I can send you -- PM your snail mail address. I think our post is open Monday morning at least ....

EDIT: Yes I do have the Dixie Clipper markings spare and set aside ....

Saviour..

I managed to salvage the US Flags and most of the Pan Am logos.. also the "Dixie Clipper" legends.. it's the wing numerals that disintegrated on me. I was going to attempt to mask and spray them on but that seems to be opening Pandora's Box in terms of my ineptitude with these things... so I will humbly and gratefully take you up on this offer.. PM inbound and mmD firmly in debt to you!

Nice one, John.
