Very nice, Jeff.

I must say that I've noticed more and more that I'm exhibiting nascent JMN tendencies. I must go and build a Starfix kit to atone . . .

regards,

Martin

Looking very good Jeff, and fixing that cowling would be a real pain. :)

Pretty good afternoon on the bench painting the Vengeance.

Polly Scale is my paint of choice and I used the three RAAF colors in the range.

A little pre shading was done but I covered it well with the overall colors.

I'll go back and forth a little more before glossing things up for the decals.

Had a very good time decaling last night. I used one of the options off the FROG sheet. Even though they had yellowed over the years it appears, after trimming close, they look OK. The method in use now days is gloss coat with Future, apply said decal, and another coat of Future. No silvering detected at this point. The decal film is rather thick but they did settle down well. One other comment about the old FROG decals is that when rolling a bud over them to sop up water and residue, they slide very slimey like on the model. Very weird.

Here is some work I have done on the twin .50's for the gunner. I nipped off the barrels and installed stretched sprue. After careful clean up they look a lot better. We will see what careful painting does next. Maybe a dark wash into the speed brakes.

So we are getting near the end. This is the point where 'ol "all thumbs" gets careless. Must be vigilant.

That is looking really smart now Jeff. I've experienced a slimy residue with old Airfix decals, maybe it's just something to do with the overall age of the decals.
