ARA398's (Adrian) Secret Santa Build 2012 **DONE!!**

What did your Secret Santa send you this Christmas? Have you been naughty or nice? Did you get a Trumpeter 1/48 Lump of Coal, or a nice old Airfix classic? Your builds should be chronicled here, starting Decmber 25th (ho, ho, ho!) and lasting through January 31st. Admins: Brickie and Paul Bradley

Ok, sorry for the delay (Christmassy things to deal with!)

As mentioned previously, I'm particularly thrilled that my secret santa chose this kit. It has been difficult to get hold of here in Oz and had fully expected to have to wait until next year... Yes I could have bought on online, but I'd rather support my LHS and the price difference once landed is negligible.

So, without further ado...

I have one of these as yet unbuilt, will be following closely. Are you going USN or Argie?

Okay, finally got some time and charged the camera batteries.

Tried the Tamiya "panel line accent color (sic)" on the seat cushions. Not happy - doesn't do too well on a satin finish. Looks like it will need a gloss coat before using :frown: I'll need to fix this before gluing the fuselage :frown: :frown:

Cockpit and intake colours done.

Intake, splitter and fan done.

I could not believe how well the intake panels fitted. A quick swipe around the edges and almost clicked into place!

Stay tuned...

Small update today. Put 5gm in the nose and another 9-10gm of fishing weight behind the cockpit (just to make sure  ).

Ready to close up the fuselage now...

Great progress. Your doing a great job on this one. I have just bought myself the nice 'operation corporate' decal sheet with loads of markings from both sides of the conflict. It looks like I may be investing in a couple of these Airfix Skyhawks

All the best.
