Greg's Fitter ***FINISHED***

What did your Secret Santa send you this Christmas? Have you been naughty or nice? Did you get a Trumpeter 1/48 Lump of Coal, or a nice old Airfix classic? Your builds should be chronicled here, starting Decmber 25th (ho, ho, ho!) and lasting through January 31st. Admins: Brickie and Paul Bradley

I should be sorted for the finish. Only a few smaller parts to add then decals and clear to finish.

All the best.

This one's in under the wire. All in all an enjoyable build for someone who likes to model and not just assemble. The things to watch are the fuselage joint on the underside and at the rear of the fuselage. There is nothing inside the exhaust to prevent you seeing right into the fuselage and the canopy is a pain to mask as the lines are not even from front to the rear seat. It needs nose weight (I used a large ball bearing - don't know the weight) In with the model was a note saying ''Merry Christmas, hope you like it' I most certainly did and I am looking forward to building the OH6 that came with it very soon - sorry I didn't get that one done for the SS build though. Many thanks to my Secret Santa for the two kits, they are very much appreciated. Without further waffling here are the pics.

At the start of tonights build session.

Hope you like it. And again thank you.

Thanks Saxon. And I agree;re the decals. Two of the decals did break up on this one but I sorted them ok. I'll get some decal film on the sheet of the single seater before I use them. This one has been a learning curve for me and an enjoyable one at that. And it'll look good on the Cold War sig table at Huddersfield later this month.

All the best.

Cheers Adrian. Although I am a college trained and time served (in the auto and oil industries) spray painter and have a few airbrushes and a couple of compressors I very rarely use them. Too much like taking work home with me, plus I have nowhere to use them at this house anyway so it's brushwork all the way for me at the moment.

All the best.

That's great Greg. I like that camo scheme.
