Greg's Fitter ***FINISHED***

What did your Secret Santa send you this Christmas? Have you been naughty or nice? Did you get a Trumpeter 1/48 Lump of Coal, or a nice old Airfix classic? Your builds should be chronicled here, starting Decmber 25th (ho, ho, ho!) and lasting through January 31st. Admins: Brickie and Paul Bradley

Interesting plane. I've never seen one of those before. Pretty cool. I didn't like the new Photobucket either but now I'm use to it so its not an issue for me. You'll get use to it in time I'm sure.

Greg, I think the new system is rubbish and pasting links is now a complete pain, Why must stupid people insist on fixing things that aren't broken?

It's going great thanks. I haven't made much progress this week as it's been a busy one for me. I have however now got hold of a single seat twin brother for it because I am enjoying the build. I will do that one with wings extended and the flaps and slats down. Pics will be uploaded as soon as I get time. I was hoping to do some work on it tonight but those plans got scuppered and this is the first time I've had time to sit and rest all day.

All the best.

Well done Greg! You've certainly gained the upper hand with this tricky build.

Can't wait to see it finished!

Looking good, are you going with the fuel tanks as well or leaving it clean?

There has been more progress on this one and it is on track for completion on the finish date. The undercarriage is fitted and the wheels are on though I just noticed I forgot to touch the paintwork up on them first  The nose wheel leg is a very weak part though and I anticipate repairs when taking this one to shows. I have as stated got the single seat version of this kit now and I'm learning the kits shortfalls and am ready for them with the single seater. Pics have been taken and will be posted as soon as possible. Probably tomorrow evening and the last ones posted on completion.

All the best.

Seeing as I'm still awake I thought I would upload the pics to photobucket and get them on here.
State of play at the start.

Image

Underside painted and de-masked.
Image

Very fragile nose leg assembly (Three parts including the wheel)
Image

End of play. Stood in it's undercarriage for the first time. (though now upside down whilst the glue fully sets)
Image

More tomorrow (with luck).

All the best.
