*** Martin's Secret Czech - finished! ***

What did your Secret Santa send you this Christmas? Have you been naughty or nice? Did you get a Trumpeter 1/48 Lump of Coal, or a nice old Airfix classic? Your builds should be chronicled here, starting Decmber 25th (ho, ho, ho!) and lasting through January 31st. Admins: Brickie and Paul Bradley

Was away with the family until this evening but, between watching Top Gear, I masked and painted the fuselage panels around the exhausts a steel colour, with the exhaust stacks gunmetal.

I tidied up around the anti-dazzle panel, and I'm happy with that now.

I started putting the underwing serials on tonight and, with a bit of ingenuity, got the decals for the wing portion on (there are multiple decals for these - approx. 5 on each side). Unfortunately, the decals for the doors were misshapen and, try as I might, I couldn't get them to fit. So, the build now represents midway through painting the serial numbers on - with the doors being still in HSS only.

Main gear legs have been added, and are drying. Tailwheel will be added tomorrow. Nearly there . . .

regards,

Martin

And tonight's progress . . .

Decals all on and kleared, main undercarriage doors on (apart from little ones on the outboard), wheels on.

Still to do:

Panel line wash and exhaust streaking
Klear landing lights
Add tailwheel doors
Add small outboard maingear doors,
Add Pitot tube
Add whip aerial

Apart from that, she's done.

regards,

Martin

Well, I finally reached the finish line! Despite the odd greeblie in the silver finish, the very delicate undercarriage, and the over-emphasised exhaust streaking (well, I had to do something to make the finish look less uniform), she's done and she'll have a place of honour in the display cabinet.

Thank you, Secret Santa. Thanks all for letting me take part - I'll sign up for next year's SS GB now!

Really nice looking Tempest there Martin. I have this one in the stash and from your build thread I can expect some fun. Well done though you have really done it justice.
Best Regards

I think it looks quite flash in its all silver scheme. Great job.

Fantastic Martin!

As I said earlier, your skill with short-run, multi material kits leaves me in awe!
