Paul has a Handasyde **FINISHED** 1/26/13
Thanks to Secret Santa, I am the happy posessor of an Inpact 1/48 Martin Handasyde 1911! Funnily, I've been thinking recently about building one of the Inpact kits I have in my stash (The Handasyde being one I didn't have), so now maybe Ineed to build two together......
I'm on hols at the mo, so no pics, but will be back on Jan. 1st to make a start!
Thanks again, Secret Santa! Merry Christmas, one and all!

Sweet. I've only built the Inpact 1/48 Gladiator but that was very nice and will definitely try others if I chance upon them. Looking forward to your build when you get home Paul.
Cheers

I've made the Bulldog in the past, and that was quite nice, so I'm looking forward to this.

Yes, he did! Thanks for the reminder, James - I'll use that and your Triplane build as useful references.

Was this kit part of the "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" series from the film?

Yes, they release 6 aircraft from the film as well as 4 interwar fighters.. More details about Inpact's lovely kits here: http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=215;ara398 wrote:Was this kit part of the "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" series from the film?

Re: Paul has a Handasyde
OK, back from vacation and here are the boxart and sprue shots:
Looks like Brooklands.
Good old-fashioned instructions:
The parts:
The wings have some nice fabric/linen texture - not too overstated, I feel:
The pilot and prop:
Engine parts - a JAP, IIRC:
The clear parts - where's the canopy??!!!:
Oh, wait....
And the wheels:
I shall probably take a page from James' book on these - see his Sealion thread.

Re: Paul has a Handasyde
Not as much progress as I'd hoped yesterday - an entertaining Rose Parade, and an entertaining Rose Bowl....
However, made a start on the fuselage and engine, and blocking in the colours on the pilot:
The kit represents the Martin-Handasyde No.3, and there are some small but useful photos online. I'll need to print up some decals, but that should be easy enough given that they are all black - I can do them on my laser printer.
