Get Yamamoto!

What did your Secret Santa send you this Christmas? Have you been naughty or nice? Did you get a Trumpeter 1/48 Lump of Coal, or a nice old Airfix classic? Your builds should be chronicled here, starting Decmber 25th (ho, ho, ho!) and lasting through January 31st. Admins: Brickie and Paul Bradley

Get Yamamoto!

Post by philp »

So, I got the Airfix P-38 to do up in Lt. Rex Barber's bird used in the attack.

I acquired some decals from Mustang International Publishers (nope, never heard of them either) can not only have the Lightning markings but also the markings for Yamamoto's Betty. The guy I got them from also sent me another Airfix Lightning and a Hasagawa Betty so now have an extra P-38 and another kit to build (if only it had been the kit with the Ohka).

Won't be starting this until a little later as I have several Review builds I need to get done but I have built this kit before (a long time ago) so ready to see how it goes together now.

Looking forward to this one. The only time I have built this kit was a bit of lunacy with two of them that became a 'twin Lightning'. I really must get that one finished.

All the best.

Well, as usual, I didn't even get out of the gate with this one.

Too many review kits that I am falling behind on and running the Whiffies over on whatifmodeler has been taking too much of my time.

I did get the kit out yesterday and did some research. Now trying to decide if it will be oob or if I will try to do a little detailing. Yeah, probably ooh.

This one still may be delayed a bit but it is on the list for this year. Will be starting another thread later.
