Right-ho..
Those oh-so-wonderful one-piece tracks/wheels/suspensions have gone on the tub. Tracks painted Hu67 and some light drybrushing with Rv 83 (Rust) to begin with. These tracks are going to get a pretty heavy coating of mud (I'm already scouring teh interwebz for tips on concocting a real Devil's Brew) and will be (mostly) invisible so I'm not going to get too carried away.

Progress, progress..
I've put the guns in as doing it after assembly would be far too fiddly..
Also attached rear plate to tub..
Glad I never had to look at the business end of this bad boy
Enjoying this build.. it's been trouble-free thus far (knocks on wood, rubs rabbit foot, apologises to rabbit)

I know, right? It's a world gone topsy-turvy: Dogs and Cats are friends, up is down, black is white, Shaun finishes a model...Ian wrote:Trouble-free? What's that?

Re: mmD's 1/72 A7V Sturmpanzer
And this one is done..
Boy, was this a pleasant build. The kit just flew together..
One of the other things that bugs me about building AFVs is when the hull parts don't fit together properly.. not the case here.
Which brings us to today and a completion
I think that's a British tank that Mr Mephistopheles is running away with, rather than a surfboard.. "Tommy Don't Surf!"
"You're not coming in the house in shoes like that!"
Made some mud using Citadel mud wash and ground up pastel chalk, spot of detergent to give it a greasy sheen. Made it very thick, to begin with. Built up the gritty parts on the wheels and tracks, left some clods of dirt on the hull as well. Progressively thinned the wash to make splashes and spatter. I quite like it. The Macro kind of makes it look harsher than it is: to the Mk1 Eyeball the effect is a lot subtler.
I think the operative phrase is "Bristling With Weapons!"
As I said, a very pleasurable build.. whether this means a return to AFV building or not remains to be seen!

I like it! Very well finished indeed and suitably muddy too.

Not a problem, it would probably have broken down. Simplistically, it was to big and heavy.

It is a nice, simple well fitting kit. And nicely built by you.

Great job. I like the mud and splashes you've done.
My only constructive criticism is that I would have been tempted to get rid of parts of the decal over the front grill (on top) to try to retain the feel of the two grills.
Other than that, splendid!

I've been looking at that too.. I was hoping that the decal soft would get it to cling to the grills to give the effect. However, I think your way is the way to go. I'll obviously have to let it dry first. But you're right: the cross looks wrong just stuck there.

It looks great, as for the decal I found on my model of this kit once the decal is dry you can carefully pierce the holes and use a decal softener to press it into the grill with a paintbrush.
