With under two hours to go it is time to post the sprue shot, this will be finished in kit markings for an Australian tank fighting on PNG in 1945.
Although this will be almost OOB there will be some detail pre-painting required to get the best from this kit, there will also be some added stowage to complete the finished effect.

Could not make a start after midnight but did wash the sprues, the pre build painting is now underway and when this has been done and is dry I will take the next picture as I begin construction.

The pre-painting is now complete, this had to be done twice as I read the Airfix instructions and jumped to a conclusion before both painting the parts and reading up on the Hedgehog Tank, it seems that this type of Matilda arrived on PNG too late to see action so I had to overpaint much of the mud brown colour to represent a tank that has seen very little use.

The suspension as first painted.

And then as selectively overpainted with a wash of Revell Aqua 68 Dark Green.

One of the good things (IMHO) is that you can't see much of the wheels or suspension once it's all together.

The hull sides/suspension and turret are now complete, the next step is to build up the hull.

Great start. Do the Australian markings come with the kit?

Quick work, David. How's the fit of the rocket launcher on the rear deck?
