Ian, the number plate on the offside rear track guard needed cutting away (not mentioned in the instructions) and the launcher needed a little trimming in order to fit in the correct position when compared to pictures and the kit plans. as moulded it sits too far back, in common with all Airfix new releases the instructions for this kit include unscaled colour scheme drawings that are more accurate than the parts of the kit and can often serve to show up faults.

Re: lancfans' Matilda Hedgehog Tank
The upper picture shows the basic tank complete and below that is the tank with the Hedgehog launcher in place. The next step is to gloss varnish where needed for the decals.

Re: lancfans' Matilda Hedgehog Tank
The model is now finished with the addition of antenae, Bren Gun ammo boxes & starting cable reel to the turret and driving mirror to the hull. The Hedgehog is fixed in loading position and apart from some light staining to the tracks, running gear and mud chutes is basically a new tank, the Matilda Hedgehogs arrived on PNG just too late to see action so I will assume that they were clean and in good condition when Japan surrendered.
David.
That did not take long so it is time to drag another kit out of the stash.

Nicely done. Quite a pretty tank really.
