Thanks mate. It will get finished some time but I think will go straight in the bin.

The decals are doing my nut in. The PM decals are horrible so I binned them & with much trepidation decided to use the Micro Scale sheet which includes a nice NASA scheme. I have used this sheet before but the decals disintegrate on contact with water. :frown:

So I coated them with Klear, left that to dry overnight and cut them out as close to the decal as I dared. The first two declas I put on went on great. There is hope yet I thought:

But alas the blue fuselage stripe broke up badly:

I did what I could to save it but will have to patch it up later. I did make a scan of the decals so perhaps I could print some off another time. (don't have any decal paper at the mo!)

For the otherside I cut the decal into 3 smaller pieces before wetting them & this seems to have worked better. Although they are still fragile & far too short. Either PM (Hasegawa) have gotten their measurements very wrong or these decals have shrunk. :???:

I will press on as time permits just for the experiance. Then this one will be fed to the shredder.

Sorry the decals let you down, this would have looked good in NASA colours.

That's a shame OT. I would like to have seen it in the NASA garb. Would have looked cool. I don't know if I'd dump it in the trash right away. Put it aside for awhile and maybe strip it down and redo it again at a later time.

I had toyed with the idea of doing a NASA T-38 like this one on display at Kennedy Space Center, but i just couldn't get it to look right either. It would be nice if one of the manufacturers made a specific T-38 kit.

I was there last year and got the idea of building it as well. When it comes to these aircraft the scheme is a bit boring but still good.

Although I didn't finish, I got 90% of the way there:

All that work I did on the interior is lost beneath the mirky depths of the ill-fitting canopy.

On the positive side I now know how to convert an F-5B into a T-38.
