Been waiting for this one.. after an nice, breezy build of the Sea Fury FB11 and a not-so-much build of the Fokker, I'm interested to see how the Spit comes out.

I'm in. The subject will be the Huckebein (sp?) Going to be a captured a/c under evaluation by the RAF. If I get time I may do a second but not sure what yet.
If any of you guys need a particular PM kit and can't source it let me know.

All the best.

Well we now have the minimum number of declarations and/or initial posts so we are definately on for Tuesday, why not join us and build that PM kit in your stash or on the shelf at your LMS? - they are cheap to buy, simple and some like the Huckebein and assorted Beechcraft and Sea Fury kits really quite accurate, they can often fill gaps in many collections and are a good, easy build with which to start the year.

Seeing as there are now three Spit VB floatplanes happening in this GB, I think I'm going to apply some whiffery to mine..

I had planned on joining this group Build way back when it was first brought up. Now I find myself leaning more toward kits with 4 wheels and V8 engines. That said I'm still going to follow through with this one. Besides you guys need something other then a Spitfire on floats for this or we may have to switch this to a SKGB. :ha:

I'm going to build the Mirage III in flight mostly oob. I need to find something simple that I know I'll be able to finish in a 4 week period. :???:

Well the GB is over and we managed ten completed models, not a bad total. These are a underrated range of kits mainly because they have not been well promoted in the past. The early models were made from soft tools which are wearing out, and the models do show this. The later models are much better and these kits such as the Sea Furies, the Beechcraft range, the Huckebein, the DFS194 and the Lippish were made with steel moulds to much higher standards of fit and accuracy. Airfix and Revell have seen promise in these later kits and each have boxed different Sea Furies in their ranges with much better decals. I think PM are now in a position whereby these early efforts such as the Spitfires are holding them back and seriously harming their reputation. They now need the resolve to replace these old tools with new models designed to the same standard they diplay on their current but newer offerings, also PM kits have always suffered from poor decals and deserve a little more effort from PM on those they supply with their kits.
Can I thank you all for joining in with this GB, I have enjoyed making my kits and I hope you have also.
